Epping Debuts New Squad this Weekend in Alberta |
John Epping (photo: Anil Mungal/GSOC) will debut his new squad the weekend on the Alberta Curling Series this weekend in Leduc, AB.

After a 7-5 record at last year's Tim Hortons Brier, the Epping squad quietly parted ways at the end of the season, similar to many other rinks.
With third Ryan Fry and lead Brent Laing moving on to Team Mike McEwen, Epping has moved Matt Camm back to vice-skip, a position he filled for Epping from 2015-2019.
Joining Epping will be a familiar face in Patrick Janssen. Janssen, who finished last season with Team Bottcher after the controversial Bottcher/Moulding split, played second for Epping from 2014-2018 and will assume the same position.
Scott Chadwick joins the team in the lead position, the same spot he filled for Tanner Horgan in the 2021/2022 season.
Epping, who is ranked #1 in the 10-team Alberta Curling Series spiel, will play his opening game on Friday evening against Jacob Libbus. He’ll finish pool play on Saturday with games against Scott Webb, Aaron Sluchinski and Warren Cross.
The event wraps up on Sunday, August 28th, with an afternoon final.
The Alberta Curling Series will run several events in Men's, Women's and Mixed Doubles this year, with all points counting towards Canadian and World Rankings in their respective disciplines.
