Biography
Curling Highlights:
I began curling when she was 7 at Glendale Golf and Country Club where I worked my way up through the Little Rock, Bantam and Junior programs. Throughout my curling career in Bantams and Juniors I skipped my own team to many girl's and mixed provincial championships (often being the only female skip in the mixed field). In 2004, I skipped my team to the Bantam girl's provincial final and that same year went to the Ontario Winter Games. Since then, I have played at Glendale in regular league play and was the club champion in 2012 (the first lady club champion at her club). I have also played on tour twice over the last 3 years and am thrilled to be joining Team Waye this year and to be back on the competitive scene!

Skipping my team to the Ontario Winter Games

Who was influential in your curling development?
There are a couple people. Without my dad's encouragement and knowledge of the game, I wouldn't have challeneged myself to skip when I was younger and become so passionate about the sport now. My coach all through bantams and juniors always challenged me to bring my strategy to a higher level and practice and play shots that were out of my comfort zone.

I had the chance to throw rocks with Jeff Stoughton and his team while they were practicing at the Brier when it was held in Hamilton and I fell.

What is your earliest curling memory?
Wearing a helmet at little rocks and trying to figure out how to get the rock to the house before every one else so I could join the juniors. The juniors didn't have to wear helmets...

What kind of goals have you set for yourself?

What do you enjoy most about curling?
I love that every single time you're on the ice you learn something new and you will never play the same game twice. I also enjoy that every shot is a team shot and you win and lose as a team.

What have you learned through curling?
I've learned a lot about controlling emotions and rebounding after something doesn't go as planned.

In response to the most common question from non-curlers that I get: I'm the one who yells, throws and sweeps.
