In Own Words:
Curling has been a social, competitive, spiritual and educational outlet for me throughout my life. It has given me friends and role models as well as teammates. It has been and continues to be both exhilarating and heart breaking. It's meant a lot.

Curling Highlights:
* U.S. Junior Championships: 2002 (Champion)
* Won some cash spiels
* Gave my silver medal from the 2013 U.S. National Championships to a kid in the front row.

Who\What introduced you to Curling?
I was basically born into curling. My entire family still curls.

Do you have any pre-game superstitions or rituals?
Stretch and get loose. I do the same warm-up routine every game.

What is your career highlight to date?
Winning the inaugural German Masters event in Hamburg, Germany.

What is one shot you would like to try again?
Semi-Final of the 2004 Junior Nationals. 8 foot double to win. Just missed. Still hurts.

Who was influential in your curling development?
My father along with everyone with a jacket that said Alaska on the back.

What is your favourite sport other then curling?
Basketball. Go Sonics!

What is your most embarrassing moment on the curling ice?
I'm pretty immune to embarrassment.

What is your earliest curling memory?
Playing in the hot shot competition as a 10 year old and losing in the final to a former Brier competitor.

What kind of Training Regimen do you follow?
Gym 5 days a week and practice 4 days a week. Train the body, train the mind.

What are your curling strengths?
Versatility and team work. I'm willing to die out there.

What are your curling weaknesses?

What kind of goals have you set for yourself?
Winning a world championship.

Do others in your Family curl?
Dad, Mom and Little sister.

What do you enjoy most about curling?
Competition. I get to test my skills against the best in the world every weekend. It's humbling and thrilling.

What have you learned through curling?
Too much. Team work, humility, anger management, focus, and what it takes to be the best.

What would you like others to know about curling?
We aren't professional athletes. We grind to be where we're at and we'll continue grinding to stay there or climb the rankings.

2002 Junior World Championships

In curling it's always yourself.

John Shuster probably.

Place you'd like to build a curling club?
San Diego.
